Tired of waiting in queues at SARS?
This is no longer necessary as SARS enhanced their services by providing an Easy Online Booking Service.
This means that in most cases you will not need to visit a SARS branch again unless of course, it is extremely necessary.
It should be noted that this booking service is not compatible with Internet Explorer, but works well with Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge.
There are 2 options to do this:
- Book online by going to the SARS Home Page, and select the eBooking online system or
- By calling 0800 11 7277 Toll-Free Line, you then have the option to book a video or voice call appointment, and if you would like a physical walk-in appointment, this may be done on the same number too.
What you need to know, to make an appointment with SARS
- Indicate whether you are making a booking as an Individual, Company, Representative, etc.
- Only SARS registered taxpayers will be able to request an appointment. Unregistered users will be referred to the SARS eFiling website to register.
- Ensure that you capture all personal particulars exactly as registered with SARS, otherwise the system will not validate your details. You will be required to enter a valid cell phone number and/or email address.
- Non-South African’s will be allowed to make a booking using foreign passport numbers. SA citizens must use their ID numbers to make a booking.
- Date selection may not be more than 60 days in advance. The earliest booking you will be able to make or receive is after 48 hours from the present.
- Only one time slot may be selected for a booking.
- Scheduling recurring appointments (block bookings) is not allowed.
- Once an appointment has been confirmed you will receive a formal confirmation by email or SMS, with a reference number.
- On the date of the Video or Voice appointment:
- A SARS agent will call you for a voice appointment or for a video appointment via Microsoft Teams, on the internet.
- SARS will endeavour to ensure that all clients are served at the time of the approved booking.
- Late clients may forfeit their appointment and will then be required to make a new appointment.
- You will be allocated an appointment with a specific service agent and you will not be allowed to request assistance from an alternative agent unless an alternate booking is made.
- You may request an appointment to be booked on your behalf, by a SARS agent, via the toll-free number 0800 11 7277. Hours for the toll-free number are weekdays 08:00 – 16:00, except on Wednesdays 09:00 – 16:00.
- You will be able to follow up on any progress after your appointment by accessing your eFiling profile or by calling 0800 11 7277.
- Ensure that you have submitted all supporting documents, relevant to your query, electronically for video or voice appointments, prior to the date and time of your requested appointment or SARS may not be able to assist you with your query.
- You may submit the relevant supporting documents electronically through the SARS Online Query System.
- The case number required when uploading documents for an appointment must be the booking reference case number received when making the booking.
- Once a booking is made, you will be able to receive assistance in completing your ITR12 Income Tax return via a free voice call-back service.
